6-cell battery for more hours of Acer Aspire One working. Are this helpful for ours Aspires? I think no, because new Acer costs $379.99. This is a joke? Yea, battery for $119.99. Not good idea from Acer. And why they relased new 5200 mAh, are this step response for MSI batterys with 6-cells? Ok, no more question, only my opinion. Acer made very dumm step with this battery and I think respect of users will be smaller now. Max price of it, I think, can be $50.  But without that Acer Aspire One is nice, good designed and has friendly user interface notebook. This mistake of Acer will not destroy the great company.

Acer announced about disscusions with Europe’s operators: T-Mobile International, Vodafone Group and Orange to suply mini laptops with built-in 3G.  Without European, Acer are talking with Taiwanese operators Chunghwa Telecom and Taiwan Mobile. Acer Aspire One now have only 802.11b/g Wireless, but if they will make contracts with this operators, Acer will include WiMax or 3G. The 3G module Acer would add web access using HSDPA and HSUPA (High Speed Downlink/Uplink Packet Access). Acer Aspire One costs US$399  and $499, but prices will change if laptops will have 3G.

Acer Aspire One comes in laptop world, because smalls and smarts laptops now are on the way. Most powerful competitor is Asus with Eee PC. Both notebooks are small, cheap and nice designed. Site is about Acer, so my review about Acer Aspire One.

Size
This little one is 9.8 x 6.7 x 1.14 inches size and weights over two pounds. You can take him with one hand and don’t be afraid that you let Aspire One to fall. He’s really light.

Display

8.9-inch 1024×600 LED-backlit Crystal Brite display. In this aspect Aspire One is like as Asus Eee PC. But if  I need small laptop I will choose this. View looks great, it’s colorful and bright. Sad, but Acer haven’t integrated touch-screen display. It will be much easier to control notebook.

Soft

When you buy this computer, you must know some details about software in it. Acer Aspire One has highly modified Acer Linux (Acer smartfile manager, home page navigator), but you can use and Windows Xp. I heard rumours about one man, who installed in this mini computer OS X. Nice opportunities.

Hardware

Intel Atom Processor N270 (1.6 GHz). It looks good from Acer. Chipset: Intel 82945GMS + Intel 82801GBM. 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB SSD of disk space. Now we will stop. Here Acer made a big mistake. I will integrate min. 10 GB of disk space. Don’t understand that SSD costs around £30, ~60USD. But Acer is planing to fix this mistake. Acer plans to bring out a host of variants in the coming months. The Windows XP version will be first and offers 80GB of hard drive space. Without all this hardwares you will find WiMax, 3G, LAN and other good stuff. For example: 5-in-1 cardreader, SD slot, 3xUSB, VGA, RJ-45, headphone/lineout, microphone, Acer CrystalEye webcam. Power: 3 cell, 2200 mAh, 30 W AC adapter. Acer shows us very good results and they are beating Asus Eee PC or Dell Mini Notebook.

So if I will choose a mini notebook, my choice will be Acer Aspire One. It’s cheap and price isn’t big.

Today Acer announced about Intel Centrino processors importing to Acer laptops. Now TravelMatte will have Centrino. So Acer published about two news business class notebooks: the TravelMate 5730 and the TravelMate 7730, both with Centrino 2. TravelMate 5730 has 15.4-inch WXGA widescreen display, Intel Core 2 Duo processor with up to 2GB of dual-channel DDRII memory and the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset. For graphic they are offering ATI Mobility Radeon HD 3470/HD 3650, nVidia GeForce 9300M GS or Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500HD graphics card. Other: wireless (802.11a/g/n) and Gigabit Ethernet LAN and modem connection. WWAN connectivity on 3G specific-configurations.

Second laptop- TravelMate 7730 has a larger, 17-inch WXGA+ widescreen display, it loads the latest Intel Core 2 Duo processor, the Mobile Intel GM45 Express chipset, and up to 4GB of DDR2 667 MHz memory. In TravelMate 7730 are integrated 3D video card Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X4500MHD or nVidia GeForce 9600M GT/9300M GS. Acer offers one or two large Serial ATA hard disks for up to 320GB of storage. Without all this nice features you will get and some trifles: multi-in-one card reader, and a DVD-Super Multi optical drive (it can be configured with a Blu-ray drive as well), 802.11a/b/g/draft-n wireless, LAN, modem, and Bluetooth connectivity.

Both TravelMates have a lot of security features: Acer Bio-Protection digital imprint reading solution, which supports Pre-Boot Authentication (PBA), and Acer FingerLaunch, which is helping to save all important data. Acer DiskAnti-Shock Protection makes your hard drive safe from hits and falls. All Acer products come with 1 year carry-in warranty.

Not long ago Acer has announced about Acer Aspire One and now it is in Europe. There are three models - the A110L, A150L, and A150X. Intel Atom processor, Intel 946GSE chipset, 512MB - 1GB of RAM, an 8.9-inch 1024×600 display, WLAN, 3x USB ports, and a 120GB hard drive or 8GB Flash storage. Choosing from Linux or Windows XP. But price is much bigger than in US: $518 (329 Euros). In United Stats it costs about 379$. So Europe is harmed.
